I happened upon this in my Miata today:

Kinja'd!!!

Inside is all the paperwork from when the vehicle was purchased. The previous owner also had the window sticker and brochure.

What sort of cool stuff have you found/received from previous owners?

We found a complete box of NGK plugs from the 70's in the bottom of the Z's storage compartment. Its really in good shape.

In my recently deceased 850 T-5R I found an original owners manual with a secret code. Any Volvo 850 owner will understand the importance of the radio code. If the power is cut, the radio requires a code to work again. Every. Time.

So thumbing through some old paperwork, trying to find this code after being radio-less for weeks due to a dead battery, I came across something that looked like this:

CODE: EZSI

Problem being, the code is numbers. Between 1 and 6. This was letters....

Should I count from 1-6 and find each corresponding number for each letter? A, B, C, D, E... E = 5! etc etc etc. THAT DIDNT WORK

Ok... The E sorta looks like a backwards 3. The Z sorta looks like a backwards 5. The S looks just like a 5. And the I looks like a 1. Ok... 3551.

BOOM BABY! Working radio!

During a test drive, I once found a still-good parking pass for my neighbor's college. Turns out that the lot it was meant for was actually right next to one of his classes, and it would have cost him $100 to upgrade his dorm lot pass to allow parking anywhere on campus.

I went to a police seizure auction once and found a condom in the glove box of a Trans Am.

I didn't even want to bid on it after that.

Hmm, let me think.....

Firebird Esprit: nothing of consequence (it was my aunt's car, and I think she cleaned it out good the few years it was in storage before I bought it)

Talon: Lots of coins in the tape player (my cousin gave it to me since her kids were getting too big to fit in the back, guess who put the coins in there)

Neon: Not much, if anything that I remember. The interior was MINT in that car.

'98 P71: Lots of ruined Brewers baseball cards. It was a MPD car and cops would hand out baseball cards back in the day. Oh and PISS.

'01 P71: Lots of dirt and sand let in from a missing body plug. Good times were had stripping the interior and cleaning it out.

'97 Legacy: Military ID, and my Ninja that now follows me in every car I own.

'98 Legacy: Kid debris. Lots of cereal and shit under the back seat.

Silverado: The Brick. (bought it from a black gentleman)

Camry: Fish tank stones. In the trunk. So pretty.

I found the PO's junior license when I disassembled the Z. And probably 400 Tokyo Joe's mint wrappers under the passenger seat. And about $1.50 in change.

My neighbor's project beetle (old) had an ancient ziploc of pot in the door panel. In Boulder. It was too perfect.

I found an Afro pick wedged in between the crack of the passenger seat in an old Fleetwood, but otherwise haven't really found anything else of note over the years.
